2 Day Workshop
Report writing for law enforcement officers in general and forensic personnel in particular, is often a daunting task. Once written , a police report may well be scrutinized by many others. The prosecution, defense, media and other professionals involved in a case will form impressions and decide courses of action based on these reports. An image of the competence and professionalism of the police agency and its investigating officers will be formed at this time.
This workshop is designed to give forensic service personnel the skills needed to identify and report relevant and sometimes technical information in a format that is clear and understandable. Students work through practical exercises that help sharpen their observation and written communication technique. Emphasis is placed on preparing reports that are logical, concise and accurate. Brief written reports completed by the students are evaluated in class.
